Thrill of the Games and Self-Control of Your Gambling
Thrill of the Games
The casino environment is designed to stimulate the senses with flashing lights, engrossing sounds, and the exciting prospect of winning. The simulated adrenaline rush from strategic decisions in blackjack and the pure chance of spinning a wheel of roulette provide a unique thrill that engages players and keeps them coming back for more.
Setting Win/Loss Limits
The key to staying in control of your gambling is to set win/loss limits and stick to them, regardless of whether you’re winning or losing. Ideally, you should also use a self-control technique such as time management or money management that helps you keep track of how much you’re spending and stop when your budget is reached.
Casino
Director Martin Scorsese drew on his Goodfellas experience for this sexy tale of mob corruption in Vegas, and he pulled out all the stops with vivid set design and costumes. Robert De Niro and Sharon Stone deliver a slew of Oscar-worthy performances, while Joe Pesci is as charmingly ruthless as ever as Sam “Ace” Rothstein.
One of the most fascinating aspects of Casino is its sprawling, complex plot that reaches far and wide into politics, labor unions, the Teamsters, Chicago mafia members, and of course the mob itself. Yet the film never lags or runs out of steam, thanks to taut editing and sharp narration. It’s almost three hours long, but Casino manages to keep the energy level high until the final car bomb scene.
